Chloé Antoniotti is a French pianist, composer and producer whose music lies between neoclassical piano, ambient music and understated electronica. Originally from Aix-les-Bains in the Savoie region, she has described the surrounding Alpine landscape as an important source of inspiration for her wordless, highly visual compositions. She is now associated with the Paris music scene.
Antoniotti studied classical piano at a conservatory for several years, although she frequently describes her later development as largely self-directed. Rather than following a conventional concert-pianist path, she began composing intimate instrumental pieces built around simple melodic figures, spacious harmonies and carefully controlled repetition.
She first attracted a sizeable online audience through videos filmed from directly above her piano. These clips emphasized the physical movement of her hands and the geometric patterns of the keyboard, giving her music a recognizable visual identity even before her first official EP appeared.
Her compositions usually begin with acoustic piano but may incorporate vintage synthesizers, subtle electronic textures and atmospheric production. The results are often melancholic and cinematic, with similarities to contemporary composers such as Max Richter and to the lyrical, image-rich film music associated with Joe Hisaishi.
