Nu Deco Ensemble

Nu Deco Ensemble is a Miami-based contemporary hybrid orchestra founded in 2015 by conductor Jacomo Bairos and composer/producer Sam Hyken. 

They’ve been described (famously by The New York Times) as “a chamber orchestra for the 21st century,” and that really nails their whole vibe: they blur the line between classical music and everything else, jazz, pop, electronic, rock, funk, even Latin styles. 

They are known for reimagining music by artists like Daft Punk, Outkast, and The Beach Boys. They’ve worked with artists such as Wyclef Jean, Jacob Collier, Ben Folds, Macy Gray, and more. They are not a rigid symphony orchestra; more like a modular, amplified collective built for modern performance. Their  programs like Nu Deco NXT and youth outreach reach thousands of students annually.
