Joachim Pastor is a French electronic music producer, composer, and DJ known for blending melodic techno, progressive house, and cinematic instrumentation. He emerged from the French electronic scene alongside artists like Worakls and NTO as part of the influential collective and label Hungry Music.
Originally trained in classical music at the Versailles Conservatory, Pastor developed a style that mixes emotional melodies, organic textures, guitar work, and driving techno rhythms. His productions are often described as atmospheric and cinematic, sitting somewhere between melodic techno and electronica.
During the 2010s, he became one of the signature artists of the Hungry Music movement, which helped popularize a more melodic and emotional branch of French electronic music. His tracks like “Reykjavik,” “Eternity,” “Millenium,” and “Fixi” became staples in melodic techno playlists and festival sets.
In recent years, Joachim Pastor has expanded his sound beyond classic melodic techno into more experimental and cinematic territory, especially on later albums such as The Winning Line and PHANTOMGRID.
