Róisín Murphy

Róisín Murphy (born July 5, 1973, in Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland) is one of the most distinctive voices in electronic and art-pop music. Known for her adventurous fashion, theatrical performances, and fearless experimentation, she first gained international recognition as one half of the electronic duo Moloko alongside producer Mark Brydon. The duo achieved major success in the late 1990s and early 2000s with hits such as "Sing It Back" and "The Time Is Now."

After Moloko disbanded in 2003, Murphy launched a solo career that blended electronic music, disco, house, jazz, avant-pop, and experimental pop. Her collaborations with producers such as Matthew Herbert, Maurice Fulton, DJ Koze, and others helped establish her as a critically acclaimed artist whose work often pushes beyond conventional dance-pop boundaries.
