April Wine is a Canadian rock band formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1969, later relocating to Montreal where they rose to national and international prominence. Blending hard rock, melodic rock, blues-rock, and arena-ready ballads, they became one of Canada’s most successful rock acts of the 1970s and early 1980s.
The lineup changed many times, but the classic and most recognizable lineup includes Myles Goodwyn, vocals, guitar, keyboards (primary songwriter and driving creative force), Brian Greenway, vocals, guitar,
Gary Moffet, guitar, Jerry Mercer, drums, and Steve Lang, bass. Myles Goodwyn remained the central figure throughout most of the band’s history.

April Wine was among the foundational acts of Canadian rock, influencing generations of musicians. They helped pave the way for later Canadian rock exports (Triumph, Loverboy, Rush’s mainstream era). Known for strong musicianship, polished production, and high-energy live shows, they were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
